And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he
corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong,
and do exploits. (Dan 11:32)
This portion of Scripture shouldn’t be taken out of context; many would
love the second part but must understand the context. The strength and
exploits of the people who have a living relationship of God are the same who
are willing to be die for the truth (Dan 11:33). We needn’t defend the truth for Christ is
Himself the Truth, but we stand on the truth in the face of the onslaught of flattery,
insincere lies.
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile
himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank:
therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile
himself. (Dan 1:8)
