Christian Beginings

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Mat 1:21)

Jesus didn't come to bring peace, as a matter of truth He came to bring the sword (Matt 10:34). Salvation is about separation from all that pertains to the world, sin, self and the devil. It is a total cut off that denies past powers from intruding into the divine relationship; as with a marriage that involves leaving and cleaving.

The Christian life doesn't begin at Jesus birth but His death which is the only avenue to bring propitiation of sin. Salvation begins at our death so to no longer live according to past ways but by faith, no longer of a lesser life but Christ life, no longer by the desires of the flesh but by the Spirit, etc. We are reminded to remember and proclaim His death, rarely about His birth (1 Cor 11:26)
