And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your
Father, which is in heaven. (Mat 23:9)
A father is one who begets or one who brings into being.
Jesus is not denying natural fatherhood, He is teaching us not to look to man
but God as the eternal Father. David cried to the LORD in the depths of his
troubles and sorrow because of the relationship he had with his God. Our
decreasing call for man’s help increases with our love for the Father. Our increasing spirituality is with the decrease of the love for the world.
Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making
supplication before his God. (Dan 6:11)
